Default xj alternator

hey up guys took jeep out yesterday and after about 10 miles light came up saying check clocks ,and the volt metre dropped off nothing pulled over turned engine off then started it back up and all ok volt metre working after a couple of mile again same thing ,so just drove home pulled on drive checked under bonnet to see belt was still there ,yes it was started it up and all fine again but do think the alternater is noisey, do you think its no good and needs a new one ,as though bearing are going ,comments please cheers karl

Yes exact thing happened to me about 2 weeks ago. You need a new alternator. Don't drive any more it's probably close to gone.

It looks like a zj or dodge dakota 2.5 alternator might fit and give you more juice.

Sounds like your belt is loose. Did you tighten back it all the way?
