Cubby Subwoofers
So I am starting to have doubts about a cubby 10" subwoofer enclosure that I want to buy. Anyone that has one do you feel it pretty good while your driving especially since it's all the way in the back? The subwoofer that I am going to get for it will be a Boss Diablo 800 watt shallow mount

I Have the 8" cubby hole sub in mine and I think its just perfect. Not to much bump but not to little either. Just the right amount. Atleast for me it is.

i grabbed a factory pioneer sub out of a cobalt hoping to fit it in the back of the xj, but the fuel filler tunnel is in the way.
otherwise i think it would've been perfect.
it's a shallow sub too.

What if you just take the sub out of the box and buy/make a custom box? I like the feeling of the bass when I'm at a complete stop but on the go it's barely noticeable but that's cause my 4-way speakers up front are only 5.25" so i'm hoping that a 10" in the back will make a very noticeable difference

I know the whole setup I'm getting so i don't need any recommendations from vendors about a box they want to sell me, I'm buying my box off of subthump.com I just was wondering how much attention a 10" will get in the back, looking for attention to myself not my neighbors of coarse

I had an XJPod with an 8" and it does give a good sound, but it lacked the "thump" that I really wanted. I went to a 10" and it sounds great. I've got 4-way 5.25" up front, 4-way 6.5" in the rear sound bar. I'm only running 250 watts to the sub and it's enough to definitely feel it at a stop and low speeds and still hear it clearly when cruising on the highway. I've had it blasting pretty loud in the driveway and have never had complaints. Used a Db meter on it today and I was at 120Db and it was still crystal clear.

Thank you this is what i wanted to hear. The amp I plan on getting is a 800 watt 2 channel and the sub has a rms rating of 400w with 800w peak. Though both are cheaper ends of the amp and sub pricing they both aren't true to their outputs of channels and rms so I hope that with the two I can get a good amount of (thump) in my jeep
