Ok first off im going threw IRO
im looking at two lift kits.
this is the first one:
  1. 5.5 IRO: http://www.ironrockoffroad.com/Merch...egory_Code=PFX
does this lift kit provide everything I need? Also what drive shaft choice would be best. Please note I am 2wd.(please dont make comments about needed 4wd I know...)
And should I upgrade anything on that kit. Long arms are not going to need added until later.

This is the 2nd choice still threw iro but its an rc lift.:
http://www.ironrockoffroad.com/Merch...egory_Code=XLK
Same questions. Does this lift include everything. And should I upgrade anything. And would I need anything else between the 2 lifts.
And which would u pick. I like the 5.5

well I'm going through an eerily similar problem in an eerily similar thread
all I know is that I would never consider any rough country or rustys products
they just seem so cheaply made and I've read/heard nothing but bad reviews about their quality, ride, and lifespan

oh and looks like both are missing brake line extensions
and I'm looking at spending a little extra for a CV double cardan and a short shaft

I hear a lot of good stuff about IRO too but all the vets on this forum say something about a weak 10mm bolt. there's a thread somewhere
I thought it had something to do with the long arms but I can remember. IRO just looks so good it's hard not to want it
I'm in the same boat as you man

The 5.5 come with brake lines. Its like 99$ for braded brake lines.

Quote: I emailed iro about there 10mm bolt and they replied saying that most failures were because people left the washers off

So I assume it seared the head off, but they also say that one bolt is rated for 30k shear strength
didnt see the brake lines in the description. good to know
just clicking through some old IRO threads and found this. not sure what it means but I found it haha

I believe it's the pass lower control arm bolt that is a 10mm

Quote: Well things have taken MANY different turns in the past month since I have started really looking into long arm lifts. Apparently unless you spend about 5k on a long arm lift there is a 100% chance things will brake and YOU WILL DIE.

I was going to go Rough Country, but I would end up dead.

I was going to go with Rusty's, but I would end up dead.

Iron Rock Off-road? dead..

Rubicon Express? Dead

after reading 100's of posts on all these different kits I knew I would never ever ever ever ever be able to find a kit that everyone would agree is perfect.
lol. so true.
@Jeepineasy -- can that be solved by adding clayton long arms in the future?

if I find the weak 10 mil bolt I can just replace it.
I dont rock crawl and never want to. So my lift doesn't need to be stiff as hell and heavy as ****.

yeah I would choose IRO over rc any day. I might go with RE in the end tho
larger tires and offset wheels
durango steering box and v8 zj steering pieces to match. only things I can think of. that lift looks pretty complete but I'm no expert
bilstein shocks?
