IRO 6.5LA vs RC 6.5LA
I've had mine for about 2 years now and my buddy has had his RC kit for about 6-8 months. I usually wheel mine almost once a week and try to do a trip 1 ever 2-3 months. I stated my complaints with the IRO kit a few posts back. It's a great system but they sorta over-looked the issue with the bushing; which resulted in using the 10mm bolt. I haven't broken one but would prefer a larger 14 or 16mm bolt in place; considering the axle bushing no longer needs to be flexible in that kit.
I will say on a unrelated to flex topic, the RC skid plate is much larger but requires you to tear down your entire suspension if you need to service the trans. Hell you can't even drain the transmission with the skid in place. I LOVE how the IRO kit lets me drop and/or service the trans without dropping my suspension.

Yup, Kumho KL71's
I've been absolutely blown away with these. Excellent on/off road performance, air down very well, and are tough as nails. I've had them at 10psi and wedged between some sharp rocks, and got nothing more than a few tears in the treads. Which is pretty much unavoidable when wheeling on sharp rock. Only problem I have is that they load up in mud in reveres. Which is pretty much what you have to deal with when you get a directional. Luckily I stay out of the mud.

I like the IRO kit and im saving up for it.
I guarentee i could break any of these kits... i like the IRO design and the companys other products too.
dont know much about RC but i hear good and bad. mostly about replacing stuff on it. Its all opinion and how you drive your xj.

dude i have been thinking about an IRO 6.5 LA for a few mounths now nad i kinda thought there LAs were a littloe chinsy untill i seen your photo they look pretty solid. you said that the bushing was over looked cant you change the 10mm out for a 14 or somewthing better, i did read a post think from you calling in about the 10mm though
) but I do sincerely recognize the weak point on their design.

Correct. The single stock upper bushing is not rigid enough to deal with the wrapping forces of the axle under braking or power, so you get some pretty decent movement of the axle. Unfortunately, due to the design of the pinion adjuster bracket, you cannot easily up-size the bolt. I love the design and love to fabricate, so I will, once I finish my car, be redeveloping that bracket and machining my own solid bushing for the axle. I don't hear much about them breaking (aside from all of KTM's friends apparently
) but I do sincerely recognize the weak point on their design.

Well things have taken MANY different turns in the past month since I have started really looking into long arm lifts. Apparently unless you spend about 5k on a long arm lift there is a 100% chance things will brake and YOU WILL DIE
.
I was going to go Rough Country, but I would end up dead.
I was going to go with Rusty's, but I would end up dead.
Iron Rock Off-road? dead..
Rubicon Express? Dead
I'm obviously joking, as I believe really any of these lifts would work fine and i'm sure given a chance I could easily brake a BDS or Claytons long arm. With all that said I have decided to get the Rubicon Express 5.5 Short Arm lift with drop brackets. It might not flex AS much as a long arm, and yes I might end up getting caught up on the drop brackets, but thats a chance I'm willing to take. I had to pull the trigger on something and after reading 100's of posts on all these different kits I knew I would never ever ever ever ever be able to find a kit that everyone would agree is awesome and perfect.

its funny hearing people say the IRO kit is weak but yet they don't even have it, and the people who do have it haven't had any problems. I've had mine for over a year and not a single problem I love it and would buy it again if I had to. I also bought thier double shear track bar and bracket another great product.
