Someone talk coil overs with me. I wanna run them on my next 1 ton setup. They'll make it a lot easier for me, but I feel like I don't know enough about them. Can someone explain to me the spring rates and why you'd have two different springs and different rates?

just curious, why do you feel you need them when you dont even know much about them?

dual spring rates are used to have a better ride, so you can have the softer spring rates for softer hits and the high spring rate for harder hits, etc. they make triple rate coilovers too

I feel the need because... it'll greatly simplify my setup. Instead of trying to fit a shock and a coil on the drivers side of a ford 60, a coilover would fit awesome.

Wait...What?

You'll be miles ahead by adding a bracket kit that incorporates the mounts you need.

You want the benefits, but have no idea how a dual spring rate c/o works?

i understand why everyone is bashing but even though he doesnt know why, there are other benefits to coils, regardless of what the ole timey leaf fans say.

read the coilover bible. then read everything about suspension you can on pirate.
