on the OPs jeep - the lack of a catalytic converter will throw a code that has 0 effect on how the engine runs. they are placed in the system for emissions and do not increase an engines efficiency with regard to fuel consumption, they do quite the opposite.

I like the Thrush welded muffler. They have a decent sound, and are cheap, which makes it less painful when I rip it off on a rock, log, etc.

Probably should have put a new engine in something else and just use that sled for parts.

I don't think floor pans are gonna cut it. That looks like some serious cancer, and I would bet that is just the tip of the iceberg.

I would do some serious thinking before I would dumping another dime into this project. How bad is the rest of the unibody?

didn't think removing the cat would help much either, I'm going to look into a high flow cat!
