89 or 98? Or both?

Your question is confusing.

I'm guessing 98 is a dyslexic typo.
Besides, an 89 Cherokee already has a 4 speed auto.
Need more info and explanation Lmao_37.

I have a 3 speed automatic. I have only had it a few days and it's the first Jeep Cherokee I have owned.

Also I have a 1998 hyundai so it's easy to type wrong year.

Lmao_37. Please explain why you think it is a 3 speed automatic. As Cruiser and I both explained, it should already have a 4 speed auto. That's the way it came from the factory.

The gear shifter I have just taken a photo of says it's a 3 speed unless it has an overdrive but I havnt found anything about an overdrive in the specs.

You're just screwing with us, right?.........

As stated above, the "D" enclosed in a circle indicates overdrive, or 4th gear.

Now........please put down your tools, and slowly step away from the Jeep.

No I think I joined the wrong forum I guess

Hyundai accent engine swap

I have only owned 2 other cars 1 fort Taurus and 1 hyundai accent which was a money pit as it has had 2 clutches and 1 engine.

I only got my driving licence when I moved here I use to ride 1000cc sports bike and didn't have a car licence till I moved here.

This is my first Jeep so go ahead mock the new guy as I don't know that much about em but Sunday I changed all the prop shaft uv joints and have the drive shaft uv joints to do this weekend. So if I come on here and try get some tech advise as iam new to the vehicle am I wasting my time.

Nah. You just need to give us more accurate info so we can help you.

Is English not your first language? Not a big deal to us.

No reason to give up. There are a bunch of knowledgeable folks on here and helpful too. We just aren't mind readers and need a bit of information to answer questions accurately. The original post seemed like it might be a troll and your screen name Lmao_37 didnt help me believe otherwise.
