don't know why you guys think the early xj's have weak gutters.
my warrior rack has been on for close to 10 years with over 200lbs loaded at times with not one visual problem to my gutters.
i would trust the gutters way before i would trust those rails. but that's my opinion.
rack looks good tho, and nice job on fabbing those mounts. even tho i think those mounts are much stronger than the rail their mounted on.

What kind of track are you using for the monts. I was trying to figure that out in the pictures but, I am sure it is something simple that I am missing.
I tore the rain gutter trim pieces off mine a couple weeks ago thanks to some low hanging pine tree limbs. I would like a more solid mount, lower the Yakima bars to be able to use my cargo carrier for camping trips.
