They may have been a bit silly but they were about men who did things other people thought were stupid. You two took something and proved what can be done by thinking outside of the box.

Thanks for the idea. I got a rack I made outta EMT and I could easily add a setup underneath that. I go camping and here in FL, it gets hot enough to warm them up.

Thank you^^^

This entire thread is full of useless comments and critisim, minus the OP, this thread is only a few "F" bombs short of me feeling like im on "another" site.

Dont get me wrong, i understand the criticsism, when i think of PVC, i think of my sprinkler system..but im not very creative..just look at my build for proof of that

But i would like to think of CF, as more of a friendly eviroment for jeepers of all type(and techincal abilities) to share ideas....Flame free..unless of corse your just flat out dangerous as seen recently(gas pipe track bars and the such.

All in all, some of you and your comments just left a bad taste in my mouth, did you end up here after getting flamed out at "the other site"?

OP...thanks for thinking out of the box.

PVC is so much stronger than people give it credit it's mind boggling!

Here's a few examples.....

Here is a boat I made using a tarp and a PVC frame, all 3/4" 38 T's, 8 elbows and 90 feet of pipe

I posted my idea on another forum an was told it would never work, it survived a dozen float trips, even a section of class II rapids, and cost 40$

Next is a frame I made for my Bug Out Bag out of 1/2" PVC for my Alice pack, again the naysayers told me that it won't work, PVC is to brittle, when it breaks it splinters. Blah blah blah

It's lugged 45lb loads a few times with no indication that it will fail, even at high altitude if temps below freezing!

The reality is PVC is a wonderful and very versatile material that can be used in many many ways!

No! Your rack isn't as strong as a metal one, but it's probably perfect for the load you Envisioned if designed and built correctly!

So ignore the naysayers and their douche baggery, if people like them ran things there would literally never have been any innovation ever in the history of mankind!
Wow. The guy with the biggest toolbag tattoo ever decides to call people d-bags and tell them they dont know ****. I work with PVC everyday. I install it for a living. I do the same with EMT. I know alot about both. If you wheel your jeep (probably dont) the PVC would be destroyed in seconds if it hit something. Hell i took my Metal rack which was 1000x stronger than PVC of because it was getting beat up and caught on trees.

My thoughts are its a nice idea for a mall crawler.

I guess he doesn't speak Latin!

1000 times stronger? Really? When you type this out do these things make sense in your head?

It's pretty simple, don't bang it against a tree branch and it's probably not gonna break. I make it a point to NOT hit things with my jeep, slamming into things on the trail doesn't interest me, I like my XJ, why would I beat the hell out of it?

apparently alot of people on here believe in driving their jeep off the face of the earth because they are THAT HARDCORE!!! some people set out on trails to ride them and have fun and meet new friends, some set out to destroy a vehicle. some people don't understand how to work on a budget because they have never had to, some people do. for the OP im sure it'll work fine. yes he might not wheel his like you do (all hardcore and nothing will survive kinda stuff) but that doesn't mean it won't work fine for him. if you don't like it, don't sweat it. its not yours.

Your right i dont speak latin, but i know what that means because your the 100th guy i know of that has that tattoo And yes 1000X stronger is touch high. But 100x is not. I have proof. Like i said, its a nice idea for a mall crawler. I dont kn ow where you guys wheel but the places i go to its super easy to get a little beat up if not a lot.

Why'd ya lift it? You should lower it and put some twankies on it. That's what I'd do.
