Roof rack looks great! I am going to do something similar. Thanks for the idea. It is a good cheap way for a roof rack. How many feet of pvc pipe did you need to pick up?
thanks

Would you consider a design revision and upgrade to CPVC? More inert to chemical deterioration, no loss of structural due to acid rain exposure. All in all, we are on page 10 of the thread, where can you get this kind of entertainment for so little.
We lost a lot of good men a few pages back., lolololo. 40 years ago the pvc was considered a space age material. Today, I guess only a rack made of hand held electronic devices would get an immediate acceptance, cult like following, and blind faith support. Good luck with your rack and it's application to your needs, kudo's to your imagination!

Wow people are STILL going on how stupid they think this is, get over it already. If you don't like it then don't read or comment on it. I for one like the idea I think it's a great substitute until you can buy or make a higher quality one.

Well, after reading 10 pages all I can say is WOW ! , amusing reading, but anyways, to each his own, I like the idea for light duty gear. It's nice to see something different. To OP, thanks for sharing your idea

Ok this thread has been super amusing to read. Anybody who dislikes this guys awesome roof rack can hop off of his junk. He made if for him and didn't force it upon you. Due to the fact that I don't have much money I might try this. Props to you man for thinking outside of the box. That is how this world keeps advancing.
WOW just got through all 10 pages. I don't see why this shouldn't be in the fabb section, there is a new roof rack build posted in this section almost weekly. Just because it is a different material means it should be in a different section? To the OP like everybody else has said haters are going to hate. I applaud you and your ingenuity. At some point I'm going to be making a emt rack for my camping gear as well. Personally I wouldn't have thought to make a rack out of pvc but if it works for for you then why not. If it breaks its easy to fix or if you feel you want make one out of metal then you already know your dimensions. Good luck with your rack and don't be afraid to try something new!
