I've done a few little fab mods to my xj, here's one of them. The p.o. had cut off the top of the fan shroud and i couldn't find one anywhere (new or jy). So i made the top portion out of 16 gauge sheet metal. It was my first time welding and forming sheet metal, but i think it came out ok. What do you guys think?

mind telling me how you mounted those up? I have a roll and I just took my flairs off and may be looking to put the edging on so I'm not such a cop magnet.

yeah just some alluminum angle that I cut one side of to curve around the wheel opening to mount it to the truck then I used brake line inside the tube part of the edging to make it hold its shape

thats all well and good but they wont flex and pop back into place like the lawn edging... lots of trees here on the tight northwest trails so thats important to me

I used some old (think they were from a '68) Mustang shock spacers to space my new front skid so the steering doesn't hit it... does that count? Oh- and some of the bolts I used are old bolts from a UH-60 Blackhawk, so kinda homebrew, right?
