What MAkes a K&N so great is that it helps get MORE COLD air into the engine. The hotter the air the less power. So the biggest help to putting a K&N "COLD AIR INTAKE" is the heat sheild it comes with. That acts as a barrier to keep the heat from the engine away from the intake.
i just got done with a cheap transfer case drop kit... cost me a total of $12.35, instead of 35 bucks and shipping from some retailers..
wen to my local lowes wharehouse, got a section of 1 inch square tubing. and 4 grade 5 , i think 3/8 by 2 inch bolts and washers.
i simply cut the tube to length for each side of the tcase crossmember, drilled them thru and bolted them right up... presto driveline vibrations cured...

Your not saving a hummer with a XJ, sorry..... The hummer weighs at least twice as much as an XJ
A buddy got his H1 stuck in mud up to the belly pan so he hooked the winch up to my XJ.... Long story short, he was dragging the XJ towards the Hummer even with rocks and all sort of crap behind the XJ tires lol

x2. The only complaint I see about *real* Hummers is the price. The problem people have is with H2s (luxury vehicle) and H3s (SUV at best). They took away all the capability, and tried to sell them as something else (kinda like new Jeeps).

Well Actually....
The curb weight of a H1 is 5850lbs
http://www.amgeneral.com/vehicles/hm.../details/m1123
The curb weight of a H2 is 6614lbs!!!!
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Hummer_H2
Either way they are beast!
Drags the Cherokee around like a toothpick but they ride like a Cadillac over anything!
