It's just rewelding it. I don't think it'd be that difficult

Well that is an even easier problem to fix. I think the fix entails larger hinges. Looking back at my build, I liked having the doors in because it helped me eyeball the rocker fitment, but having them out after everything is tacked would have made the welding and prepping a little easier.

Ill take a pic tomorrow, there's all kinds of crap in the way. Also the hinge itself is about a quarter inch thick and the sheet metal its welded to is much smaller, probably 15 or 16 guage.

Nicely done! This seems like a straightforward mod I'd really like to add something like this to mine. I don't have rust but I like the idea of the added protection. Not to mention a solid spot to use a high lift jack with

Could you possibly post a pic of the holes you drilled and how you plug welded it to the body? I can see the bead on the top so that was the only thing I was curious about

If you can weld and use common sense, a 2xwhatever rocker is a kick *** mod. It took me about 2 days to get it done, most of that was spent grinding and fixing rust issues. Do not attempt if you cannot weld upside down, or have problems welding thick to thin metal (you can mitigate some of that with plug welds and 1 inch flat under the sill). As with any big welding project, the devil is in the details. Lots of prep to get to clean welding surfaces.
