2x6 rocker build
Wanted to fix my rust before winter gets nasty so I cut the rust out and replaced with 2x6 3/16 steel tubing. Drilled holes along top of rocker to plug weld tubing to the body than ran a weld along the length of the door from rocker to tubing. No braces to uni body yet because I want frame stiffeners and repair passenger floor pan before I brace rockers. Seem solid enough though as is.
Enough talk here's pics

I was worried I wouldnt be able to save it but was actually surprised with the results. I started this Wednesday night before thanksgiving at 11 pm. Finished at 530 am thanksgiving morning. Wouldn't have taken that long but One thing led to another and front fenders got more surgery and painted wheel wells and front bumper. Lol and buddy came over about 130 am and wanted to talk more than help haha he was having problems with his ole lady and needed to vent.

Here's fenders cut and bumper painted. I have 3" spacers up front and 33s were rubbing at full turn so needed more cut and this is what I ended with and have no rub now. Still need to bump stop so they don't rub when flexed. Will build tube flares in near future.

Did you relocate your horn and vacc ball and cut out all that other stuff? also did your panel go down further in the front? It looks like we have almost the same jeep haha, what year is yours?

Haven't moved horn cause I've never had a problem with it being in the way. Vac ball just zip tied up against the small brackets by bumper. Not sure which panel you are referring to? It's a 92 by the way. Hoping to have a busy weekend working on it. Plan on doing a comp cut and replace who rear pan and lift gas tank into floor and build new wheel wells for the rear after comp cutting it.

I cut my fender directly inline with the bottom of the turn signal. That's why mine don't come as far down if this is what your referring to.

Ya my pops owns an exhaust and mechanic business so i have every tool I need. 6 lifts, 2 mig welders, 2 exhaust benders, drill press, any size of exhaust from 1 1/2" all the way to 4". Lol anything I pretty much need. Very fortunate for what we have for a garage. I'll prob use exhaust tubing for my tube flares since we already have it on hand.

The flares will be for more of a legal reason than performance. Cops round me love handing out tickets to modded vehicles. Don't really have anywhere to wheel so we mostly just bomb down abandoned township roads that flood easily. Crawling through woods every now and than so not to worried about the brute strength of them. We do have a couple sticks of Dom left over from our rail buggys might use that for flares.
Thanks for all the comments guys
