any chance i could get a pic of the underside of your 2x6 rocker.just trying to picture how it looks under there and where support beams might go..

thinking bout doing this same mod sometime soon after christmas..
so any pics or extra info would be apprieciated.

also cant wait to see the tube flares.
ive wanted to do that for a while now.
seems so much more brute then plastic bushwackers.
but then again it may damage the body instead?

Ya I'm familiar with Fulton not to far from here. I bought the metal from our local shop.

I'll try to get ya some under body pics this Friday when I pull it in the shop. I havent added any support yet from rocker to uni body. I agree the tube flares would be stronger than bush wackers. Im not to worried about performance as I am just wanting to be legal on roads. Our city police love modified off road vehicles. But if I do happen to smash them off a tree I'm not to worried about denting or crushing the body as this is just my point a to point b truck right now.

Not sure what you mean by where the fender mounts. I havent done anything to fender except cut. If your talking about the lower part in front of the bottom of the door I just stitch welded it to the rocker. It took a lot of wobble out of the fender and made it sturdy.

When I got the jeep the driver floor was gone. Once I ripped the chew spit stained carpet out of it (sister in laws boy friend owned it and wanted to trade for a beat up neon I had. Thought it would get better mpg when he was delivering pizza lol) I could of been flint stone powered on the driver side if I wanted. I through a small piece of sheet over it just to drive it around in the summer and recently just fixed it and made seat mounts for the new driver seat I put in it. The passenger side has a couple holes that I swear get bigger every time I look at them. The rear cargo area has a couple small holes and gets a lot of water from where I trimmed the rear fenders. I plan on comp cutting the rear and rebuilding the wheel well and making a new pan for floor of cargo area. Than need to do passenger a seat mounts than want to use fiberglass to seal it all from water. Than I'll under coat it all.

But thanks for all the comments I appreciate. Anymore questions just ask.

mine arent supported, because im lazy and dont care

but they sit flush with the bottom of the floor and fit snugly against where the old pinch seam used to be

Mine haven't been supported either. They're welded along the top and bottom and at both ends.

I know you beat the **** out of yours so if yours hold up I'm sure mine will.

NICE!! I cut my rockers out this past spring planning to replace them. I now see no point in it because I could go your route and get rockers AND rock rails at the same time! Looks good!

You cut up to the pinch seam and then insert the 2x6 into the pocket that is there. Then fold the pinch seam up flush to the 2x6 and weld the entire length of the seam. Also weld to door sills and in my opinion they don't need to be connected to the unirails. But mine are also tied into the fenders and bumpers.

Pit bull that what I plan on doing with my tube flares is welding them to the rocker. I also plan on making a some what exo like yours that follow the a pillar and run over the roof front and rear to make a cage up top. I have a crazy idea of making a fold out platform to put a tent on top of jeep for camping. Than I can have a awning on the side of the jeep to hang tarps to ground and store my quad at night and other camping stuff. This exo and roof cage will be built out of exhaust tubing and will not be used as roll over protection though.
