upper transmission cooling line question
I have 2001 auto Grand Cherokee, 2wd with the 4.0. My daughter wrecked the front end and we have found or fixed just about everything with the exception of the transmission oil cooling line (upper) that connects to the radiator. Its a metal line about 2 feet long, connected by a hose clamp to a rubber line. When I search online or at the parts stores, it only gives me the option of the whole line, going all the way to the tranny. How or where can I get just the short piece? Pic attached, thanks!!

It seems to be MOPAR #52079753AB. Many of the cooler lines have a crimped rubber hose portion.

Maybe search your local JY and just get the short piece you need the reconnect the rubber line with new clamps. I wouldn't see why that wouldn't work it may save you some time and money.

The key with any transmission cooling line is making the terminal ends seal. Otherwise the rest of the lines can be made from fuel hose and steel brake or fuel tubing. Worm-drive clamps will work as long as the tubing ends are slightly flared so the hose won't slide off. The most you'll see in those lines is about 40 psi. GM used to use standard double flare on their ends so it was easy to make new ones. I think jeep uses a bubble ferule end, so you need that type of fitting.
When I made the connections for rubber to steel, I used a double flaring tool kit and just used the starter flaring insert to form a bubble on the end of the steel. It worked perfectly.
