Transmission Cooling Line Leak Please Help
I cant seem to find where the coolant is coming from, but it appears to be dripping from a low point on the transmission coolant lines. I also tried to check above the line, but cant tell for sure if its running down. It does seem to be dry from the front near the radiator, and from the back near the transmission connections so I dont believe its running down the line.
I could really use some help if anyone has any ideas on how to penpoint if I need to replace the line or if I need to look at a differnet posisble cause.
Can someone let me know if the black clip can be moved or removed? It seems stuck.
Also can anyone tell me what the gray cylinder above the lines is?

Your mechanical fan is (possibly) blowing it back to where you're seeing it; I'd check the thermostat housing on the bottom (among other things) and look for a very slow leak, a weep, if you will.
Anyway I just took the clip off, and seperated the lines I cleaned them the best I could, and drove the Jeep there was no drip anywhere.
This must be either a really slow leak. If it runs out while its sitting what would that tell me? I just wonder since it lost most of its fluid while sitting I suspected the resevoir bottle, and checked it, but it is not cracked or dripping. Something tells me this is going to have to get worse before I find anything!

I thought about the fan, but nothing closer to the fan shows a sign of colant on it. The lines directly infront, and below of it are bone dry.
The fan tends to blow things that direction (close or not) and, yes, it may have to get worse before you find it. Keep an eye on things and all will be revealed. Also, don't look at the lines, look else where. I've been through this.
Thanks for the advice. I will keep an eye on the level to be sure it doesnt overheat or run out, and we will see where it goes from here. I hope its not the radiator I have replaced 3 of those it seems to be a chronic Cherokee/Comanche issue on the ones I have bought atleast.

FYI, the "Gray Cylinder" is your starter.
If it is green coolant on those lines, its coming from somewhere else. As stated, only trans fluid runs in those tubes. Those lines go to your radiator, check the radiator with a bright light and make sure you don't have a seep that is dripping down to those lines, the liquid will run to the lowest point where it will collect then drip off.
How much coolant are you losing in a week? Don't just look at the overflow, look inside the radiator cap as well. Also check around the water pump for signs of wetness.

Clean off your water pump, and keep an eye on it for green moisture. Especially the shaft. they have been known to leak down the shaft, before they go out completely. JMO!

long shot. but look on top of your oil filter and if there's evidence of dripping coolant there maybe its your heater control valve? it might not actually drip on the oil filter on yours cause i think mine got moved forward a bit. but you get the gist.
