Update, So I should be getting the gc back either today or tomarrow.. ill update when I see it in person. It turns out this might have been my fault the whole time

 

Why not! That's what it's supposed to take. The book says ATF+4 or equivalent. It's a 42re, not an AW4.

 

ok, i haven't been on here in awhile due to forgetting my password.
but i need to update this since i said i would come on here and let everyone know what happened. turns out about a week before i crossed the cables while jumping another jeep(i know im a total ******* for doing this, but it was late and i had a few beers and whatnot) i guess sometimes i just have to learn the hard way. oh yea so it was a fried computer for the trans i think, im not sure if i mentioned that in my previous post. after it was all fixed and put back together, it cost me $450. so take my dumb advice and always double, triple check those cables! or better yet get a battery charger and don't give jumps.

 

thank you for faithfully updating your post. not enough people update the conclusion after fixing it or the problem persisting. my 95 zj has a similar problem. i am drinking my morning coffee reading every thread i can about it. and thank you to everyone responding too. i love this jeep even though it has problems. part of the joy is fixing it and it working! MUCH LOVE TO THE COMMUNITY
