When you refill it, add some of the Lucas Trans Fix.. I had a 97 ZJ and had a problem with the Trans Slipping and shifting bad, replaced the fluid and added a bottle of Lucas and it never had a problem again. I have used it in many of my Jeeps and it always helps. I have recommended it to other people with trans problems and it has fixed theirs too.

Getting same 2 codes on mine, plus a P1698(which sounds like may be just result of other 2 codes from what I've read online).

Did you find the problem and if so, what did you fix/replace?

I'm thinking either TCM or solenoids as well. Anyone know what year Cherokee TCM's will be compatible with my '97 if I go looking for one at salvage yard?

Saw a remanufactured TCM online but want $404 for it and I don't have that kinda cash at moment.
