99 laredo suddenly won't shift out of first
I went hunting this morning and everything was fine, jeep shifted fine nothing wrong with it other than the normal things.on the way out of the woods I bounced a pretty good sized tree branch off of the undercarriage and then right after that is when I noticed it wouldn't shift out of first anymore. The tranny does have about 100k on it, but it want acting up before the branch.Does anyone have any idea what might have happened? Anything would be greatly appreciated.

Will it shift through the gears manually? There are cables from the trans that lead up to the passenger side of the rear of the engine. It sounds like you may have damaged the cable that controls the shift solenoids. Do a visual. Even if the cables aren't broken they may have been pulled out enough to disconnect it from the solenoids.

It's some sort of sensor on the bottom of the tranny, just luxked our and found the magnetic insides of the sensor stock to the frame. Any idea what sensor that is?
