NV242 HD from Humvee conversion question

NV242 HD from Humvee conversion question
So I found a NV242 HD transfer case for sale that is from a 1995 Humvee. I was wondering if this would still work on my 99 v8 WJ if I swapped the output shaft and couplers from my current NV247?
