Humvee Tires
Has anyone used or seen anyone running the 37x12.50x16.5 Goodyear Wranglers off a Military Hummer? Im curious as to how well these tires will handle on road and off road. Thanks

military goodyears are also 10 ply, meant for the extreme weight of their vehicles... I would not recommend them on our jeeps

on road...............
off road. last time we had snow duty i took a hmmwv through over two feet of snow, literally. i had to go on the side of the road to get passed stuck traffic. the tire didn't spin once.
just keep it off the road...

Goodyear RTII’s:
-Military tires are HEAVY and may be load rated too high to use on a light weight offroad vehicle
-Military tires are not made of a composition for rock crawling. I have read several comments where people have stated these tires really suck.
-Most of the tires I have seen are OLD. My set has a date code from pre 1990’s. I’ve heard that manufacturer recommend you not run tires over 6 years old (not sure if this is true or not, hope someone will clarify- my guess is it’s an official statement written by their lawyers). If you are in the market for used tires I recommend you research DOT markings to understand how old the tire is that you are about to buy. I’ll give you the short story here, they went to a 4 digit date code in 2000 (wk/yr). During the decade of the 90’s it was a 3 digit code wk/yr with only one digit for the year. But, they added a triangle at the end to designate the 1990’s. If it’s just 3 digits, it’s 1989 or earlier.
-Many of the rims are 16.5”. Which is getting to be an odd diameter these days.
-Even aftermarket tires (Interco, etc) in 16.5” are generally 10 ply rated and are not likely to give a cushy ride in a light weight Jeep or Sammi.

Nope they are not stiff, Load range d I believe. Had a set on my f 250 I just sold. Pretty quiet on the road, rode good to. They were great in the snow this past winter. Worked good in mud and rocks also. Yep if you can't tell I really like them. Place in OKC is selling them for 350 a set.
