Help keep blowing fuse for brake taillights.can't put shifter in drive.
I'm going to jump into this one for a minute. If it's blowing the fuse with the brake switch disconnected, the short has to be in the harness BEFORE the brake switch. This system is hot at all times, so look for something that is likewise hot all the time. Something that is also controlled by that fuse. It's going to take a detailed circuit diagram to find it. The ones I have are a joke! I

If you're going to the dealer, pretty much everything is expensive. Hope you get your problem worked out.

The minimum will be a $100 diagnostic charge, then whatever labor and parts are involved in the fix.
Thanks again to everyone that commented.....
He told me because of the melting that happened in the rear tailight over time strain on those wires little by little they started to melt.Then one day all is a sudden which happened to me last week.It shorted out the brake fuse.
