Default Front axle question

Can i swap a 98 v6 front axle with a 93 to 98 v8 front axle?Just a straight swap. Thankyou for your time

98 is a inline 6 not a v6,Yes the axle will bolt in but both the v8 and inline 6 used different gear ratios which will cause problems if have to different gear ratios front and rear.

The axles are the same. The only difference might be the driveshaft, weither or not it has a CV input or not. Even that can be changed. The joints at the wheels don't matter, either CV or u-joints will work.

The ratios of the front and rear MUST be the same or you'll blow the transfer case or one of the axles.

Take the cover off your front axle. Count the ring gear teeth. 39 teeth is 3.55, 41 teeth is 3.73. (the pinion is 11)(Dana 30)
