I think you have the 44re if you have the 5.2, so a Dodge pickup with a 5.2 will have the same transmission. The I6 42re transmission will not bolt up to a 5.2, and an XJ tranny won't work either.

95 with v8 engine, you have the 46rh trans.
i6 has the 42re. wont work
dodge truck transmissions will NOT work because the starter is on the wrong side. needs to be a 46rh from a 93-95 grand cherokee v8

Yeah I have the 42re in my Jeep and I wanted to upgrade it, Found a trans from a v8 GC and bought it not knowing it didn't bolt up. So if your replacing, Make sure it bolts up before you pay! lol I had to learn the hard way.

Old fart with a wrench
When I bought my first pickup, they told me I'd never want to be without one. They were right, until I bought my first Jeep! I still miss my pickup, but I wouldn't go back. I would like to have BOTH, be can't afford to,
I drove past a farm in Upstate NY and saw 5 jeeps in the yard in various conditions, a couple of Wranglers and several XJs. I didn't have time to stop, but may someday.

ide pull thr front diff cover off to make sure there is no damage to the ring and pinion gears there might have been a reason the person took the drive shaft out other then to save fuel lol
