door locks / windows stop working 2004 JGC
I was at a red light when my daughter could not open her window a month ago, I tried on my side and nothing. I cant remember if I opened and shut my door and then it worked again but either way everthing worked again until recently, now it stopped working for good, heres what I can tell you
The locks work using the driver side door control panel, not sure if the driverside lock works when using the passengerside control panel, I will check later. The locks work using the remote except for the driver side front door lock so Ive been locking that with my key. The front driverside lock/window control panel does nothing
non of the widows work no mater which door control panel you use
Another thing that doesnt work is the door chime when your lights are left on after you shut the jeep off and open the door
The only work I ever done on the driverside front door was a door lock actuator replacement like a year ago
Hopefully there is enough info here to pinpoint this, the fact that the door chime stopped working make me wonder
I havent check the fuses yet but this doesnt seem to be a fuse issue with all the info given

OK, I removed the boot in the door jam and 3 wires were broke, looks like one of them was repaired once
Never had this issue in any other car/van I owned, so why is this a problem with jeep grand cherokees?

If you'll notice there is a pinch point right where the bundle goes past the door hinge and into the body. The hinge causes a sharp bend in the bundle and that's where they break. My 2000 has been repaired multiple times.
DO NOT use butt splices because they form a section that won't bend and break even easier. Solder them together and cover with shrink tubing or splice in new wire inside the door and body. The one that usually breaks is the black power wire.
