Ol' Blue -- I also had a bad A/C evap core diagnosed on my '99 Cherokee Sport. The shop wants $1700, which I don't have!! Can you share your knowledge on how I can replace myself? The Haynes manual I have doesn't provide much information. Thanks in advance!

I took my 99 cherokee in, and the shop said it was the condensor, and since I was on travel, told them to go ahead ($500). Got it back and the next day, it was not cooling again, so now they say it is the evaoporator, as they got a good hit in the interior.

Is there any for me to pressure check the evaporator myself? I do not have access to a leak checker.

Dan

You better make those arseholes give you a refund because of their wrong diagnosis. You shouldn't have to pay for their incompetence.
