Thanks for the advice. I ended up using a drill bit that just barely fit in the hole and just slowly 'drilled' it out by hand. Then scraped off the little bits left behind with a pic.
Dealer was gonna charge my girlfriends mom $1,000 for the job. They paid me $400 to do it. Best thing of all, I have NO Extra screws left over. Win for me!!!
when you order the evap, order the foam gaskets that go around the heater hoses and a/c lines. Those you will ahve to cut to split the HVAC box to remove the condensor. About $70 i think

Thanks for the info Ol' Blue. I completed the task of replacing the evaporator core and, while I was there, replaced the heater core as well.
Maybe you, or someone else, can still help though. Somewhere I still have a vacuum leak in the AC system. I replaced both the condenser and, after your help, the evaporator. I have also replaced one line - the discharge from the compressor to the condenser. While under vacuum, it will lose about an inch an hour - so it's very slow and I can't seem to locate it. I've tried rotating some of the lines to see if the o-rings are bad, but nothing is changing - looks tight, unless you give it time.
Thanks alot,
Howard

They have a dye that is injected into the system to show any leaks. Also there's a sniffer that will locate leaking freon.
You might want to take it to a shop to have them find the leak, then maybe you can repair it yourself. JMO

Could you send those to me as well, please? You'd be doing me an my old pop (retired Vietnam vet) a huge favour! Basically it's me doing the work while he, um, "supervises" and it sounds like you gents have what I am looking for.
Thank you for any help you could provide.
