was wondering if anyone can tell me which rear axle and gear ratio i have in my 1998 grand cherokee

Going out on a limb here but I think you have the D35 because of the 3.55 gears in it. Is this a 4.0 Grand Cherokee? Be easiest for us to ID it if you could put up a pic of the center section(diff cover).

thanks for my information. also any idea if the 2" spring lift like the ones from http://www.4wheelerssupply.com/catal.../products_id/1 work at all, or is it just a waste of money. Thanks

Those will work, but is that only two spacers or four? You will need four.

yea it is only 2 for $40. do you think it would make a difference at all? or would i be better off with doing some other set-up for a lift

You need four cause it takes one to each corner. I have a 2.5" BB with 1" taller springs for a total lift of almost 4". I think a 2-2.5" lift is a good start for people to learn on. You can run up to 31" tires with minimal rubbing.
