Hello there. I have the exact same issue with my 1998 Jeep Grand Cherokee Ltd, 5.2 Magnum. When stopping with light pedal pressure when I come to the last 2 feet of the stop my peddle pulses the ABS, this is on dry pavement and very light stopping , I was PM'm you to see if you ever fixed the issue or know what it is now. I'm thinking it’s a wheel sensor , but I have no codes or error lights on. You can text my cell as well if you like, I'm on iPhone so iMessage works as well. Reg 306 880 8851.

Did the wheel sensors fix your issues ? Let me know guys.

Welcome to the forum.

The ABS module will fault if the tone sensor is disconnected. The ABS module will retain / display the fault for 50 ignition cycles after the fault is repaired, or until cleared by the tool.

Are the tires uniform with sufficient tread? Are the brake pads and rotors in good condition?

 

Hello thanks for responding, my 98 ZJ has brand new Michelin LTx tires and no codes stored anywhere even with the chrysler scanner so it’s not showing any sensor problems or anything but still does dododod when you come to the stop sign? Brakes are all brand new all around !

 

The ABS hasn't worked on my 2000 WJ in over 6 years and I like it that way. The other night I narrowly avoided hitting a deer and the left front wheel locked up and skidded, but I could still control the direction because the right front one didn't! Had my ABS worked, I would have bodywork to do.

Yes, it is a problem. For one thing, when you ask questions of people who aren't even active on the forum, you tend to not get answers.
