Starting From Scratch
So it's time to end my old build thread, and as the title says start from scratch. Some of you have probably seen my other build thread of my red 99 Cherokee Sport. Well in about 2 weeks I will no longer have that jeep, and I will have an 89 Cherokee. This 89 needs some help. So stayed tuned cause in less than 2 weeks there will be ALOT of pictures.
First things for ya'll to expect will be the transfer of my suspension, wheels/tires, and I got zj steering linkage.
List of things to follow that, in no particular order:
Comp cut and cage
tube doors and half doors
Bumpers and sliders
Full width axles and a 4 link rear
Interior overhaul...seats, harnesses, etc
Engine overhaul
other misc things as they come
I do have a few misc things I am selling as of right now, and will have more to come once I start building this 89. Right now I have 97-01 half doors and 97-01 door parts.

I decided to help my little sister out. She has been in need of a more dependable vehicle. She has wanted my jeep for a while, so decided to let her have it. Once I find someone parting out a 97-01 I can put new fenders on it for her.
I am kinda happy about trading because I can never find used parts for the red one. Even at JY there are mainly just 96 and older xjs. Hers also has the np242 t-case (I prefer this) as opposed to the np231. I also plan to cut from the back seat back off, so this way I won't be cutting up a pretty xj. The red one has flawless interior.
Only bad thing is I don't want to have to do all that work to swap everything over. I also hate waiting. She is still driving it until the 15th when I have a weekend off work, and can get both jeeps in the shop. I was off yesterday and today, and wanted to swap it all. She can't drive a manual though so she couldn't drive my mustang.

Okay so after a long long weekend the lift is transferred over from my red jeep to the black one. So now I no longer own the red one. Ran into a few snags during the process like making a parts run, and my mustang breaking down. I also had a new helper with me this weekend. Yeah she is a real shop dog already haha.

I like the old XJ better than the pretty red one, it has more character. So what kind of dirt does your sister have on you to make you give her a perfectly good XJ?

Haha they have a few good things like the 9" rear end. But yeah they make alot of crappy stuff like oh idk plastic thermostat housings that crack in half. Not that I learned this on my mustang or anything haha.
