Something that has been on the "to-do" list on this 99 XJ for along time is to get rid of the bearing noises coming from the rear. A while back, I replaced both rear axles and assoc bearings in hopes of fixing the issue. But the carrier bearings also ended up being bad. Couple that with the need for rear brakes and I figured I would just bite the bullet and get it all done. So removal:
Yup, this was definitely the issue:
All cleaned up and ready for new bearings:
New bearings pressed on:
Oh, yeah, new brakes (and axle seals while I had everything apart):
All back together last night (sorry, didn't take any installation pics) waiting for the RTV to cure before final fill:
Initial test drive last night was good, took it to work this AM to be sure (before handing the keys back to my daughter):
So this is a long term project that I've been working on and off over the summer. I picked up a used set of these TJ rims off FB marketplace for like $60 (includes a 5th as spare).
There was LOTS of sanding to get to this point....
Oh - forgot to mention that I ordered a new set of Goodyear Trail runner A/T black sidewall tires for these rims. They should be delivered Friday!
So next week I should have these mounted on the daughter's black 99 XJ. More pics to follow.....
Those wheels (Assuming they're 15x7) came stock on my Cherokee and I've been planning to paint them black for three years. I wanted to do the outer lip silver as you did, and like this picture, but figured it'd be too difficult to mask it off. Yours look great, what paint did you use?

Thanks - these are indeed 15x7. As for paint, it's automotive grade paint, ie base coat / clear coat. I had most of this left over from other projects.

Ah, that's why they look so good! We'll see what I can do with some rattle can...

If you take your time, you can achieve similar results with rattle can. The only issue is that rattle can will not hold up as well longer term. The urethane BC/CC should hold up much better to the elements and brake dust.
New tires arrived 1 day early:
Already dropped them off at the local shop at lunch and will be taking the rims down tomorrow AM.
Finally got the new rims / tires mounted tonight on my daughter's 99 XJ.
Unfortunately the early sunset killed any opportunity for good pics, so you'll have to settle for these:
