So tonight I took the air bag clock spring out to clean / inspect:

It was pretty nasty. Took the unit apart and cleaned all the gunked up paste / dirt / dust inside the assembly and then re-installed it back in the Jeep.

Took it for a quick spin, no light on so far. I'll have my daughter report back over the next few days. If the cleaning didn't fix the issue, I'll order a replacement and install.
I would pull the gauge cluster and hit the connections with some dielectric grease . . i had a similar problem on my xj with the airbag light and gauges going dead . . fixed my problem. Good looking jeep btw!

Recent project completed - AC system had a leak. Couldn't find it with simple tests, so I bought a halogen sniffer. Worked like a charm, the leak was on the front condenser. Ordered new part from RA, old vs. new one:

Was able to get the old one out without disturbing the radiator / cooling system

Pulled a vacuum after install:

Held for >30 mins.

Charged it up with fresh R134a and shes blowing nice a cold again.
Got it done just in time for this past weekend's 95+ degree weather, daughter was happy (and she helped with the swap)....

I have heard some people say those things don't really work.
Which one did you buy?
I am almost certain I have a small leak somewhere.
Using dye did not reveal it.
Thing is about a month ago I added some refrigerant and my AC has been working.
Got down to about 42 degrees F when driving around in 96 degree heat about a week ago.
Just yesterday it got down to about the same and it was 86 degrees.
I still think something is not right though.

I found this on Amazon: LotFancy Refrigerant Freon Leak Detector for HFC CFC Halogen R134a R410a R22a R600a R290 Air Condition HVAC - you should be able to Google it for multiple other vendors that have the same model.

Before using it, I put a small amount of R-134 into the system - just enough to get the compressor to kick on/off several times to circulate it through the system.

When I used it, there was not a single beep around any of the connections that I had put new o-rings in. Started beeping behind the grill. So I'm thinking it worked as advertised.

Not only was the paint shot, but it's rusting from under the paint - no saving this:

Started with chemical stripper then moved onward to sanding, lots of sanding:

Also taking care of the rear bumper, had a lot of scratches and dings/ dents, ready for new paint:

Ready for final paint:

And while it's been tied up in the garage, new skins for winter:

Not trying to be critical but why did you not take the roof skid strips off?

Honestly - not sure how they come off and didn’t want to mess them up....

Wish you asked.
Piece of cake. They are just double sided taped on.
I had very similar issues as you on my '00. Hood and roof.
I don't posses the skills to do what you did so had somebody I know
do it on the side.
They did an OK job. It was fine for me.
Anyway I prepped the vehicle for him. And when I say prepped I mean
removed the roof rack and skid strips.
As a matter of fact I was thinking I might damage one taking them off so I
scoffed some from the boneyard. They come right off. Probably from baking
in the sun for the last 20 years.
Worst case scenario use the fishing line or dental floss trick like when taking off
door moldings.
I wasn't even sure if I was going to put them back on.
Was getting some things Line-X'ed and asked about doing them.
Guy said give me $10 more for them.
I used the good 3M VHB tape to put them back on.

Well, I figured since the rub strips were originally black and the Jeep is also black....

Anyway - it's done now:

I'm going to give it a day or so before I put the roof rack back on so the paint cures fully.

Thinking about it now they should be.
Yours is a Limited. So the door moldings and bumper caps are painted to match.
Well Jeep should have painted the roof skid strips to match too. LOL.
