1/4"X3" angle iron, welded in place, and capped. HTH!!

that looks pretty good u think it would be strong enough to weld sum steps to?

Welding additional steel support to those rocker guards would definitely enable installation of a pretty decent side steps...

i like those plans alot thats probbly wut ill do. and ill probbly extend out from that with pipe for a step kinda deal

I will post some pics of mine. Out of 2.5" Sq tubing and some 2" Sq Tubing and some 1/4 " Steel Plate~ Total of about 8 Hrs start to finish

Yes, I have came down on them pretty hard, and had the entire weight of that side of the Jeep on them, and they didn't flinch. I wouldn't think twice about jacking against them at all.

Without a doubt...SUPER STRONG!!


They basically spread the load over the entire rocker panel, and are welded in placer. They aren't going anywhere!!

COS those are awesome. I wish I woulda seen those before I got my sliders. Would've definitely gone that route. Rocker protection w/no loss of clearance!


... I may sell my sliders and do that later. Too bad my sliders are welded.

Extremely helpful thread.

Did you have a lot of rust behind the angle iron? Mine are badly rusted. The angle iron would help me pass inspection, but I wonder if the rust should all be cut out and then see what the situation looks like back there...

on mine i couldnt give you a est cost of materials i have a buddy the owns a welding shop and it was layin around so it was free.
