so it looks like its a good thing i didnt like my rear end being welded.. because its not welded anymore! idk how i broke each and every weld on my spider gears but hey i managed it! only problem is now is that there is so much slag that we cant loosen the spider gears enough to pull one out thus letting the others fall out. heres the only pic i got as we were doing this from 8-1030 tonight in the dark using flashlights and my buddys headlights.

Hopefully not Steve bc removing the carrier will require me to reset the backlash for my gears, n while from what iv read that's not very difficult it's very time consuming n a pita. So me n Dj are hoping we can just torch one of the spiders gears out, then the other three in theory will be loose enough to "fall" right up, then it's just a matter of getting a grinder or saw zaw in there n cleaning up the slag enough so I can install an Aussie back there.

I do have one last question regarding the broken welds, bc of the amount of slag on the carrier we couldn't pull the spiders gears like I stated. All welds did break though so the spiders can freely spin n occasionally catch when bound basically acting as a limited slip. I will only be running the axle like this till I have the time n money to torch n pull the spiders. So my question is what are the odds/chances more metal could break free from either the broken welds themselves or the chewed up spiders? I just do not want my 4.56 gear ring to be damaged in anyway.

so today went over my buddys house and rewelded the pass side upper control arm mount back to my axle, so one of my current issues are fixed. here are a few pics first is one of my buddy under the jeep welding the mount back on the axle, second is of the welds from a rear veiw, and third is from a side view.

so not much traction on either jeep atm, work has been incredibly slow and i just had to drop $300 to rent books for this semester so there hasnt been much money for either jeep, and the spare money i am making went to a new radiator for the grand. hoping to get it on the road next week long as the new radiator is the last fix i need to get it 100% driveable. once its on the road and i can save up some more cash ill be attending to my rear spiders on the XJ and will be searching for an aussie to toss back there.

my oil pressure gauge in the xj wont read so i did a little research n found out it was most likely the oil pressure sender. so ill head to an auto parts store sometime this weekend or next week.

haha you might wanna look into that.. i got mine to work and now it shows that i have little to no oil pressure after the engine runs for 15-20 min thus something is leaking oil somewhere ha. im thinking its my cam bearings if my buddy is correct.

so i finally had to time to get the rear axle fixed. replaced the chewed up spider gears with new ones. torched the suckers right out. while all is now good and dandy i dont wanna go back to only be locked in the front as that is just no bueno in my book. so i searched and searched and found a guy in NY on naxja with a brand new spartan for a 29 spline 8.25 so i had my GF who goes to school in NY go and pick it up from him today. i got the brand new spartin, 2 spare 29 spline axle shafts in perfect condition, a spare carrier for a 8.25 and some other random goodies all for $250 needless to say im pretty excited to go visit my girl and pick up my new parts. here are some pics of the parts.
