i ended up buying a new set of axles with some 1 ton otk steering instead. the rear end is welded which im not a huge fan of but after doing some research on here im feeling more n more comfortable with it. for some reason photobucket wont let me upload any pics for the past few days so once i can figure that out ill be posting some pics of the axles n such.

the PO cut off the sway bar mounts n the steering stabalizer mounts from the axle so im going to either be running no stabalizer or be cutting off a rear axle shock mount and welding and fabbing that to the front end to ount a duel stabalizer. time will tell for that though. again alot is being done right now so i will do my best to hope on here and keep everyone posted.

so as promised once i remastered photobucket id have some pics. well i just whipped that b*tches *** hahaha. first pic i have is just of the axles as i got them,

second is going to be a picture of the pass side front axle where the sway bar mount and the stabalizer mount is supposed to go, but have been cut of on these axles for the 1 ton. im hoping i dont need to now buy a mount for a stabalizer. but time will tell wont it.

also while we were waiting for my buddy to drop off the steering box and drop pitman arm that was used with this steering setup from the jeep hes parting (we needed the drop pitman bc it has been reamed and tappered to fit the 1 ton steering. we figured it would be easier to use his set pitman arm n have mine professionally reamed and tappered)

anyways like i was sayinggggg while we were waiting for that i decided i was sick of having my hi jack just sitting in the trunk bouncing around as i wheel and take corners. i was origionally semi against mounting it to the outside of the jeep as i had with my previous jeep and the hi lift ended up being destroyed by the weather elements. so i figured id just bite the bullet and buy a cover for it to protect it. but as i was saying we decide to make some custom mounts to mount to the brush bar on my front bumper. to keep it even and have it mount to something that will absorb the hijack when i hit bumps or when wheeling we decide to take a bolt and put it through the sleeve and old bushing from my long arms and weld them onto my front brush bar. blah blah blah im getting bored explaing this so ill get on with the pics.

dont have a picture of the finished product yet, but will be getting one up asap.. stay tuned as this project is turning out to be alot more interesting then origionally expected.

so today we finally finished up getting the new axles in the jeep, still need to get it alligned but with the 1 ton steering i was hitting 50 with no death wobble and no stabalizer, didnt push it past though with the steering unalligned. also got a picture of the finished project for my hi lift jack mount. got a hi lift cover coming in the mail as well so the gears dont rust or get seized.

Finally found you! Jeeps looking real nice, how much different is the welded rear? I've been thinking about it for a whole now, open open sucks lately.

It was funny I was sitting in mine for a minute messing with my phone (was there at apple getting it fixed) and some of the looks they all got was incredible. including the blue tj. Yes I saw that too. I was kinda bummed looking at your jeeps though, mine isn't built near as much as it should be.

so a little update, after driving the jeep around with the welded rear end iv realized im really not a fan of having a welded rear on a DD, tomorrow i will be wheeling it for the first time and im assuming being locked front n rear with 4.56s im going to love thus leading to my next decision. do i buy another xj and keep both on the road one as my DD and the other as a wheeling rig only? or do i buy a truck or bigger suv n a trailer and take the ninja off the road? im leaning towards buying another xj and having 2. any input would be great.
