I do however plan on building front and rear bumpers when the money is available to me. As for the rear support a full hybrid cage will be built relatively soon, again when the money is available to me. Things in Alaska are definitely not cheap so things take time. But I completely understand what you are saying! Thanks for the feed back
Roni gave you top advice their,
I'm not a structural engineer and my name is not Albert Einstein!
But sense is sense.

I'm glad you are receptive to what I had to say. I get you are in a part of the country that's difficult to come by parts and such, I know several people in AK (Arkansas, LOL) so I know all about shipping there. I highly suggest you work on structural support sooner rather than later, as in make it your top priority. You'll thank yourself later. When you're driving your rig down the trails years from now. As opposed to scrapping it months from now. That and armor/recovery should be on the top of your list. Someday, you'll get stuck (especially if you're the guinea pig in your group) and you won't have anything to attach to or winch on. Just sayin'. Jeep on.

Always have been the guinea pig... Haha but I completely agree! Armor is definitely important. I know a buddy selling DOM tubing that I might ****** up to get the cage rolling when I get payed, but that's assuming he still has it. If not gtf has some I could pick up soon. Just waiting on pay day now

I bought 20 feet of Dom tubing a couple months ago. It still sits in my yard beside my shed

Wise. What are you looking at for the uniframe? I went with RuffStuff mids, and Dirtbound's front and rears. Max at Dirtbound is a stellar guy to do biz with, contact him and see what shipping is like, he makes quality stuff. Plus, he sells the RS mids through his site at cost.

Well with the way my sliders are setup, whatever stiffeners I go with would have to be modified to fit and then welded in. I'll look into em and see. The kid I'm buying my lift off of knows a guy locally that fabs stiffeners

Well the other 2 wheels showed up today, so hopefully I can get them mounted this weekend and thrown on the heep. Also the 8ft whip showed up, the 4ft one was completely destroyed from Alaskas thick brush and didn't really get the reception I want for our wheeling trips

You bet I will!! Dropping $800 on wheels that I don't want to fall off... Hopefully I can pull off my spacers since I'm not running 35s anymore, but if not I just gotta check the torque on both sets before she heads out on the road again

Impossible, he uses Hanes Her Way. Now back on topic.

OP, glad you're taking some real veteran builder advice. I know money can be tight but be patient. Rome was not built in a day. We would rather see your project done right and safe rather than see you injured. Nice wheels though.

I can't wait to see what you have planned for the cage. I have been wanting to build me a cage for a while but not sure where to start
