so i had my dad and a buddy of mine come over today for some male bonding over some brews and welding
ended up tacking in the perches after aligning everything and measuring out the distances. the width of the 8.8 is about 1.5" shorter than the d35, so we ended up putting the perches 3/4" closer to the brake flanges to compensate.
here's a close up of the tacks and then a global view of both perches tacked on, now just gotta bevel them and get to a welding

Great build bro! Lovin' black XJ's more and more these days
How are you liking the adj Ironman LCA's? I was thinking of ordering up a pair...I already have some other UCA's to go in as well. Do you have the ones with poly bushings or johhny joints?

So I drove to St. Francesville Louisiana from Houston Texas for the Cajun Jambo. The ride there was good, no overheating, smooth ride (as long as the road wasn't too bumpy).... but after some hard wheelin, and high winds on the highway, the drive back was a little hairy!

So after the cajun jambo, i did come back with a little body damage, rear tailight was cracked a little bit, and the driver side fender was crunched

just kiddin, but really i did decide to replace the old steering box with a rebuilt one from a 99 V8 durango. installation was fairly simple, and seems to have turned out ok. we will see after some tests. here are some pics of the box

so i ended up coming up with this guy (from my previous jeep, wire wheeled it, primed and painted it to give it life again)
attached a shovel, axe, highlift, and new spare tire. next up will be lights on the front of it.
