so here here is what i came up with to hold my tire in place, braced the existing 3/4" square tubing with some 1" square tubing where the tire will rest.

gears finally broken in
gears and fluid checked with no abnormal wear or shavings. now i need to install my rear bumper & gas tank skid, then trim the rear wheel wells and i'll be ready for the texas spur jamboree

Installed a RR HD trackbar to get a little more flex and strength from the added double shear connection at the top

got to the rear bumper today, went on in a snap!
next up will be to change the valve cover & gasket, oilpan gasket & rear main seal to finally get rid of the oil leaks
any suggestions or helpful hints on this would be appreciated as this will be my first time with the rear main seal
and oil pan, but the write-ups don't make it seem too bad
