Default rack w/ tire carrier

so here here is what i came up with to hold my tire in place, braced the existing 3/4" square tubing with some 1" square tubing where the tire will rest.

Default HD Rugged Ridge Track Bar

Installed a RR HD trackbar to get a little more flex and strength from the added double shear connection at the top (appologies for the crappy cell phone pics)

Default rear bumper

got to the rear bumper today, went on in a snap!

next up will be to change the valve cover & gasket, oilpan gasket & rear main seal to finally get rid of the oil leaks any suggestions or helpful hints on this would be appreciated as this will be my first time with the rear main seal and oil pan, but the write-ups don't make it seem too bad

Chex-Mex, I'm new to the forum, just bought my '01 XJ this week. Am working on design plans with my husband for the roof rack, did you build your own?

sure didn't, came with the 89 XJ my dad gave me about 14 years ago, I just welded on some stiffeners so that it wouldn't flex when i put my tire on it (as well as an anchor point for the tire). i am an engineer though, so any design help you all may need jus lemme know (being an engineer i have to give the disclaimer that i like to ever complicate things as well )

Yeah, I hear all about the engineer types from the designer /artist viewpoint in my husband. I think the two marry well it just takes a lot of Scotch, ha.
