Wow now I need to see ur build in person to really appreciate it. I love it tho, lots of info I can use when I do my rear axle swap. But how did the 35 and 30 hold up with those 35's? And how hard did u wheel it?
Btw we need a meet n greet or a run soon!

i can say though (through experience) that a hack & tap doesn't weaken the shaft as i broke my shaft no where near the drilled & tapped section
400 for mine ( with shaft ) but I love it, hated doing it, but love it ha ha
Also I broke about 4 lock ring plyers before using needle nose... Sucked

so since i bashed up the exhaust (and it was on it's last leg anyways), i went to the local auto store & picked up a flowmaster to give it a little bit of a better sound, gave it a few tacks to hold it in place

Nice wheelin! The day I take this thing on rocks is the day I have my first heart attack I'd be soooooo wussy on those trying not to scuff my tire tread lol. But thanks for the info also got one more noob question, I got a d30 on my 2000 sport but not sure how to differentiate between hp and lp
the pinion sits higher than the centerline of the axle (well ring gear, but axle as well). below that photo is a photo of a low pinion (sits below the axle center line)

yeah, they sell some expensive kits for that, but if ima rebuild it, maybe i should try and get it right (a shorter shaft will be harder to break than the long shaft). since i have the 231 in right now, i won't be pressing to rebuild the 242 (or if i cant find a short shaft kit for the 242, then rebuild it stock and short shaft the 231). this way i can take my time on it and make sure it is strong!
