Just installed a HD Crossover steering from Rugged Ridge, and I hate it, due to the design, the toe-in rod rolls up and down, causing the steering to be a little late on the response. I'm gonna connect it in a different way to see if that solves the problem, will post pics on how they told me to install it (which allows play...even says so in the directions)
and the way I think it would work better.

so i tried to connect the steering in a different way, but then i had some binding. if i didn't think that bending one of the rod ends would compromise the integrity of the material, i would do it in a second
i am going to try something different sometime this week, and see if i can offset the left and right rod end angles to keep that toe bar from rotating.

so i just got an 8.8 from a local xj racer for $100, it wasn't the best, but i was doing it to have that beefy housing, and those beefy 31 spline shafts

thanx offroadnut36, decided to build it cheap but stout. i figured when all was said n done, i'll have a stronger axle than a built d44 (which i was thinkin bout), but for a cheaper price.
as of now i've put in about $280 inot this axle
$100 for the axle & $180 for new ring n pinion set with master bearing n seal overhaul kit for the diff)
plan to get a beefy riddler cover for $100, and some beefy brackets to weld on for the springs and shocks for $100. Then rebuild the brakes (or maybe get a disc set from a junkyard), and finish up with an Aussie lockah

have the axle almost bare, and just ordered the needed bracketry (springs n shocks) to weld on
