Texture isn't too important to me. I would rather have a smooth surface so its easy to clean.

i would go away from actual bedliner, because like you said, it would be a bear to clean. my bed is never clean no matter what.
i spray all my stuff (bumpers/sliders/suspension) with standard semi-gloss automotive paint as well as a nice coat of primer. it is durable, and Rustoleum black semi-gloss is a pretty close match for touch ups.
