haha nice! yeah im only about an inch higher at about 5.5",all you really need is bumpstops and youre golden. we will see how she wheels this weekend. got the tire carrier finished, somewhat. my buddy finished welding it in wisconsin while i worked on the jeep, ended up welding the latch to close to the hatch and now we cant get the hatch open, oh well, we werent gonna use that latch anymore either it was a dumb idea..its the one that comes in the AtoZ fab kit.

either way ill be back sunday with pics!

just got back! almost rolled it once but got her to touch back down!

also, FUSE YOUR WIRES! ONLY WIRE I DIDNT FUSE ON THE WHOLE JEEP ALMOST BURNED IT UP!

story goes, we did a night run in gilbert, they were going to hit the black diamonds the whole run..i was the only rig with tires under 40". surprisingly, the jeep outlasted 4 wranglers on the same trails! but she was running a little hot and my drivers u-joint was popping so i left 2 trails before the end, on the way back, i flipped on the bumper lights and the switch fell through. then the jeep started giving off this burning smell..i touched where the switch was and i burned my finger on it. i quicked turned it off, jumped out, ran around to the pass side, ripped out the center bezel, grabbed the dash, ripped it out and yanked the switch pulling out the wires easily because they melted.

got home that night and pulled all the aftermarket wiring just incase..

the jeep survived the rest of the weekend and got us home!

pictures to come tomorrow, we were up at 8 after partying all night before and wheeled a little bit and then drove home 4 hours so im to tired to post up pics..well, heres a teaser

yeah, sounds like you need a fitchbox and some ahem....properly relayed and wired lights. Keep up the good work dude, and don't you dare burn her to the ground.

For someone who did a "how to wire off road lights" write up you should know better lol. Glad to see it stayed on all fours. Killer shots, but we need MORE PICTURES!

haha well it would have been fine had the switch not busted and caused it to short. but yeah man we all make stupid mistakes, just glad it didnt turn out worse. ill admit it would have been better to just leave the lights un-wired. either way, all wire is being taken out and being replaced coming soon along with marine grade batt terminals.

heres a couple more pics, ill do a write up in the reports section

FWIW just got a $200 bonus at work and mu buddy is selling his old IRO trac bar barely used for $50, $60 bracket and $20 install kit and i should be sitting up around 6.5" soon! also trading my old rims to jason at IRO for longer doetsch tech shocks up front so the jeep will be able to droop like a *****!

just got back from my vacation, recently me and my buddy re-did the latch on the swingout so i can open it and made a better cb mount but i decided in the end to just mount the antenna directly to the bumper.

heres the carrier now able to swingout

the setup earlier today

hood vents arrived! came off a firebird even have drip catches so water doesnt pour in (not pictured) yes they will be getting painted

and got pulled over because the turn signals are blocked by the bumper, so, rigged up my own. now just gotta put a resistor on them so they stop blinking so fast

new setup

next up is to clean up and repaint the carrier, my buddy that helped me build it is gonna weld on the light tabs and the 100w hellas on the front are going on the back and bajas going up front so i can have some lights i can use on the road, a-pillar lights going back on, OBA, get the new lift in, and wheel it!

so i measured today and my lift has settled at 6" in the front, and 5" in the rear. just got my doetsch tech shocks on today which are meant for 6.5 - 9" of lift and they fit perfect! they bumpstop just where i need them too and let my rig droop like ive always wanted it to. i tore out all my aftermarket wiring yesterday, tore apart the dash to get ready for the new switch panel and wiring and put my bajas on.

heres some pics

hahaha

so next up is to bring the back end up to match the 6" in the front, see if i will have money to do a tracbar before my next run, shorten up the mount on the tire carrier, get a winch on, re-locate the hi-lift, get the holes for the fender welded, cut and weld the rear fenders, get the exhaust fully welded and re-paint the sides. oh yeah, finish up the dash and wiring. i will continue to update as i go

thanks man! the carrier me and a friend built. i drew up the design and he welded it up. just need to tweak it a bit like shortening up the mount, welding in my quick hi-lift disconnects in it, and finish cleaning it up. she gets wheeled again sept 11th weekend! should have a few more things done by then!
