ugh. this jeep looks terrible after you got your hands on it.

there's nothing "nice and clean" about it.

appreciate your opinion douche bag never said i was trying to make it look like a show jeep. its a project and as everyone knows, its never finished. yes i know its not at its high point right now, im still in the process of cleaning up the fenders. the welds will be grinded down, the fenders are getting cut up in the back and were gonna stitch weld them then ill seal it up and we will start on the tube flares. the hood vents are going to be painted black as well. and i do regret taking the paint off but there wasnt much left after i got side swipped in high school so i did it that way.

so if you really want to, just hang tight for a couple months because i need to get most of it finished before winter hits and i have to leave it be until spring.

it's mostly the front bumper that I hate....I hate it when people weld brush guards to steel and call it a front bumper.

if that stuff was cut off the bumper, it would look good.

??? the whole bumper is a c4x4 bumper, the brushgaurd was optional. its not so much to look i was after as the added protection. i already had a rock take out a headlight (was messing around at AVF and the IRO ZJ did a burnout infront of me and kicked up a rock and it went through the head light). who knows i can take off the brushgaurd whenever i want. when i re-wire the front and paint, ill have the brushgaurd off so who knows, i may or may not like the look.

heres what it looks like all disassembled

[

but yeah alot of the wheeling i do is in the woods so its nice not to have to worry about branches beating up the lights and such..so it is semi-functional.

that won't stop anything bigger than brush from taking out your front end.

THIS will.

I didn't know C4x4 couldn't actually make anything...they literally took a brush guard kit and chopped it down, then copied it, and made it bolt on their bumper. it's cheap and chintzy quality....probably cost more than it was worth. at least the brush protection.

this is positive critiquing to you...not meant to be an insult. when you get down to it, consider building a nicely triangulated guard into your existing bumper. something that can take a hit....the one I posted is what I use to push around and flip over junk cars, T-bone them when I'm done with them, and has ripped a deer's head off at 65mph with nothing more than a scratch.

ok well if you look back a page or two i have taken it out wheeling and its seen some use since i have put it on and so far, its held up to my expectations. same with many other people who run it. i did some research before i bought it. if i had a welder at my house and room to fabricate a bumper, i probably would have made one. but i dont plan on flipping cars so i think im ok

different strokes for different folks i guess is what it all comes down to. i whacked a deer with my old nates4x4 bumper and it faired off just as good as you said yours did. it just pushed the deer under the jeep and cracked one of my hellas. i like my c4x4 bumper, i bought it for more than just looks and so far, i had a similar situation following a jeep up ski-jump which has a bunch of loose rocks and it kicked up a decent size rock and all it did was scratch the light gaurd. little paint and it was good as new.

got the back lift in today..man i need to get my tracbar in it leans baaad to the pass side. i snapped all the u-bolts but thank god for anti-sieze. 2 years since the shackle bolts and eye bolts have been touched and a breaker bar took them off with no snapping. i did just end up cutting off the drivers side u-bolts..those things are under some pressure lol.

heres some pics

never buying rough country crap again..two of my leaes were cracked and i didnt even know it.

the new

new

starting on the old

sitting on its own

new hi-lift mounts welded and tire carrier shortened

and for comparison, im 5'11 (had to get a pic of the finished product haha)

it doesnt really ride any worse. now its sitting at 7" front and rear..well..about 7.5" in the back. tracbar is next, then cleaning up the fenders and getting some paint on hopefully..leaving at 12ish friday for gilbert!
