I took 4 years of engineering in high school and 2 in college, and if you slack at all it will jump up and kick your butt harder than a kick-boxer wearing steel toes. Best of luck with it, its a good field to be in. BTW, I miss the rear windows plastered with manufacturer decals. BAMF Jeep
thanks bro beadlocks, eh, dont really need them never lost a bead on the trail except for the time i blew out a sidewall on my 33 but that doesnt count lol. the 35s are decent with stock gears. significant onroad power loss as to be expected but still does just fine in 4lo on the trails.

as for the engineering stuff oh i know man haha it will be a challenge especially with my ADHD but i feel like its the only thing i will be able to do happily for a job.

got my new tank in today, everything works great but my gas gauge says its empty even after i filled up..hmm..it worked for a little bit when i turned it on before i had the tank fully up so im thinking its just in the connector over the rear axle..ill see on sat after work. need to get it figured out before i put the skid on haha.

heres just a couple pics

up to gilbert for the crawl 4 the cure! were leaving thursday morning, getting the jeep inspected and registered when we get there, posting up for the night at the cabin, then leaving early friday im my friend's blazer to go to duluth and meet up with my girl's dad. he works at cirrus and they are having a big lunch and we get to watch the practice airshow runs!

then he is coming up saturday and riding along with us. he has a ****** he is restoring.

rims arrived!

originally i had a new set of 10,000 airsoft BBs and i put 10oz into each tire. was going down the freeway and between 40 and 55 it would shake like mad. so i took them all out and did a regular static clip balance, no more issues!

pics

last time you will see short arms on my jeep!

these rims are so sexy! and to all the chrome haters, you can have your opinion but theres nothing wrong with some shiny rims

O man so so sick. Word of warning on the rims though keep em clean cause they rust real fast. Steel wool and naval jelly get rid of it nicely though

long arms in! wasnt to bad at all, worst part of the project was my door latch breaking LOL. it rides pretty good now! with the OTK and long arms, its like a whole new ride! its actually nice to drive now!

also today we did the brake lines and i fixed my gas gauge, heres the gauge fix, this little guy just popped off the pump

for SNLs

all back together

start of the long arms, pat pulling off the stock arms

oh yeah!

TOOL

haha corey

wow this arm is longer!

ratchet strap to put the new arms in

everything in! yes i know about the oil leak, next on the list hahaha

moved the axle forward a good couple of inches

next to pats zj on 9" and 37s

little flex, stock brackets and shorter shocks limiting me

waking up in 4 hours to drive down to stpaul and finish up on the bumper, then come home and throw the skids on, thermostat in, clean out the jeep, drill out the box spacer, paint the bumper and throw it on, pull studs through, mount spare and go to work and throw the 31s on to get me up there. got a lot of crap to do tomorrow but we will get it done!

Love your rig man, looks great, I just started on mine, and hope someday I can get mine that decked out.
I just read your entire thread and I know this question goes back aways, but how did you paint your rims black? I have those same stock rims, are in decent shape, but has some surface rust around the edges. any tricks? Just prime and paint? powdercoat?

thanks guys! finishing her up right now, putting in skids, drilling out holes, gotta trim the tank skid, rubs on the IRO exhaust..but the bumper should be done tonight as well, i just got back from IRO, they plasmaed off my stock LCA brackets, swingout should be done tonight too, picking it up, primering it tonight and painting it before i leave tomorrow. im leaving at noon for a 4 hour trip to gilbert, mn for my first wheeling trip since last september! im excited!!

for the rims, i sanded them down getting finer, three different grits, then cleaned them, then i used a deck of playing cards between the tire bead and wheel all around to protect over spray. then i did 3 coats of primer then 5 coats of paint, then a coat of clear coat.

its inspired me for sure

iv done everything to my jeep myself from welding custom exhaust to the lift and roof rack plans now are saving for a 4.5 inch lift full packs and custom bumpers front and rear and then 35s
