Well i just cleaned the jeep then took a look at the trail damage i got... seems that i put a pretty big dent in the frame rail.. everything else was pretty small just lotsa rock rash..

so my updated plans are as follows:

First.......Frame rail sleeving...
Second...rocker replacement: 2x6 box steel
Third......d44 building: crown vic brakes, locker.

me thinks your shocks and brakelines are limiting your droop.

Advice:
Look in a junkyard for a v8 grand cherokee. Take its tire rod, install on Xj and enjoy! You stockers not beat up yet, but that v8 tie rod is beef compared to it and has like 33% bigger TREs!

Get a spartan over a aussie. You can get a brand new spartan for 230 shipped to your door for a D30. I love mine..Locked front/open rear for me. Looking for a LSd rear, don't wanna daily drive a auto locker. I drive way to aggressive for that, I'd eat my tires alive.

Get some frame stiffeners & tie your rocker replacement into those.

When you rebuild your axles I'd get the rest knocked out of the way as well.
On your D44, weld the tubes to the 3rd member. Its safety so they never spin out. Relocate the shock mounts up higher..takes but a few minutes.
And rebuilt that D30 at the same time, that way your rolling on fresh axles! On the D30 add in currie mini skids, or make your own, box the passenger side upper control arm mount, and do a simple truss & gusset the c's..its a little bit of extra work but its well well worth the time spent!

Heres a few ideas.

I will be doing something similar to this, except I'll be using a peice of dom over the top...
http://www.google.com/imgres?q=D30+s...t:429,r:7,s:15

I like how the truss intergrates with the control arm mount.
http://www.google.com/imgres?q=D30+s...t:429,r:2,s:33

My truss will look something like this..gotta find the modivation to get up and do it but it shouldn't be to hard. 1 bar and a couple peices of 1/4 plate. Easy enough.

And for the short side, just a simple little piece of DOM.

doing this will make the axle much stronger, but keep it light weight.

Thumbs down

Your jeep looks amazing, I also have a 01 on a 3 in
But I'm only running 30's for now, but I wanted to
Suggest the angry eyes headlight mod, I think it
Would go nicely with the theme Of your jeep.

well ive pretty much just enjoyed the jeep since i last posted in 2011... WOW thats a long time ago.

Ive been busy with classes at Auburn.

I have had a lot of trouble with the ujoint on my d35 and i have been dispeased with my braking performance so i finally sucked it up and decided to put some money into the dana44 and get her under the jeep.

Over this past week ive put some major work into the jeep. I had a leak inside so i ripped out the interior and plugged some holes, I also replaced the headliner which was disgusting and falling off, 50$ at hancock fabrics got me a new one. I also did a little bit of sound proofing work and installed a stock muffler to replace my annoying flowmaster. (anyone want it?)

I got some brake parts from a crown vic at the junk yard for 80 bucks and I pulled off the dana 35. I just took the shafts to a shop to take off the seals and then I should be able to put them on (but It might be a couple weeks as I am about to be visiting colorado to do some skiing)

Also got km2s a while back.. $$ ouch

heres a few lousy pics of the whole project:

Put some foam stuff and copper insulation in the wheel well - pretty cool stuff but not sure how it will take mud and rocks..

made a custom speaker mount a while back so I have music when doorless

The way i fixed the ebrake problem is a lil redneck but I think it will work out

got the dana 44 under it

welded ebrake adaptor worked well, I did have to cut the spring for it to fit though, so I guess I get marginally less travel out of it

everything worked out great! except i put a big ole dent right behind that passenger side front wheel.....
