If you feel like wheeling in Tennessee some more. I'll be in windrock this weekend and AOP next weekend.

Wish I could. I spent over $300 in fuel for the trip...

It'll be next year before I can make another drive that far.

My local wheeling at Uwharrie I can drive down, wheel all day and come back on less than two tanks of gas.

Im located in SC so I understand the cost and distances involved. I'll definitely be at uwharrie sometime in the fall.

dont get me wrong, the cost was worth every penny. You’ll have a blast.

Just saying I wish I could afford to go more.
it was the best wheeling I’ve had.

I must say I am in love!!

I was initially worried about the turning radius and whether they were balanced or not.
Tires clear lock to lock and they had no problems running 75 down the interstate!

Good score, man!

PHASE 0 "Original Post" OCT 2008:

Well I figured since I got such big plans for the jeep I might as well start a build thread for it. The jeep is a DD so the idea behind it is to keep it street legal while still making it able to hang out with the big boys. The idea is to keep it as low cost as possible with out cutting corners or going with the it will work for now and I'll upgrade it later concept.

How the jeep sat:

3.5" Lift, 31's, D30 Front, Dana 35 Rear, Homemade Bumper Winch Mount

PHASE 1: COMPLETE AUG 2011

5" Lift, 33's, Cut Fenders, New Bumper, IRO OTK, & Rock Sliders

Axles:
HP D30 w/ 297x ujoints, 4.56's, lockright
D44 w/ discs, 4.56's, Detroit

PHASE 2: COMPLETE MAR 2015

6" Lift, 35's, HP Dana 44 Front End, Ford Radius Arms, & Lots of 4.0L Bolt-ons.

Next ride is in June and got a few things to get done...

Tightened up the Flex joint in the Trac bar as it had quite a bit of play.
I also finally got around to tightening up the play in the steering box.

Also, I started fabing up a steering stabilizer again.
Not that I need it just that I want it and had everything laying around to do it with.

Had to redo my CB Antenna Mount.

No more wires to get snagged...

Much better! I have one of those 90* PL259's hooked into the back of my radio. Does a great job of taking the strain off the center wire in the RG58.
