Some of the rides I do, I am glad I have the anthem. Especially since I started getting in to endurance races. The one course is 6miles fairly flat, then 7miles with 1200ft of climbing. That is one lap. I am planning on doing the 12 hour/ 100 mile solo hopefully I will be up for that this fall, maybe by then I might have the $$$$ for an anthem X 29. I find I actually have more traction with the shock open too. The maestro suspension is amazing. At some point I would also like to have a rigid singlespeed. Super simple, just ride and put away.

I can only imagine how much energy it save over long distances, but even at my fittest usually only rode about 20 miles before the cold beers started calling I built a Surly 1x1 back in '99, the brand was so new the bike doesn't say Surly on it anywhere. Love that bike. Singlespeeds are probably the most fun I've had on a bike, bar none.

That's badass and some serious racing. I used to ride with Matt Lee and his friends back in North Carolina and he talked about crazy races like that. Have you checked out the Tour Divide?

I'm more of a 10-20 miler just cause I don't have any where near the endurance I used to.

We'll get you back out there worm... slowly.

Awesome! That is way cool! My longest straight mountain bike ride was 10pm to 10 am. 70-75 Miles riding with a guy doing a 24 hour thing for his late brother. I started late because I had spent all day working at the mud bog and then drove straight over to ride. We did 10-12 mile laps and then would rests and eat for 15ish minutes, then go out again. He didn't ride alone at all. The last lap was with his sad, who managed to keep up for a shorter lap pretty well. Pulling into the parking lot at the end was incredibly emotional though.

Does sound pretty emotional. I was fortunate to be surrounded by guys with lots of experience when I started riding. Matt Lee was one but there was another who in three years road to Cali and back to NC and then to CO and back. Those guys taught me a lot about fundamentals and I still keep up with a few of them.

Messing around on the RTI Ramp. Not bad with the sway bar still connected.

Thanks guys!

Went on a ride today down in Lorton. Snapped some shots with the old prison in the background.

Lookin good. What page are the sliders on? Did you have to do any welding for those? I really like how they look.

Nothing major to report. Been driving trying to break in the new steering gear box before going and getting what I hope is the final alignment done.

I'm starting to piece together a new stereo setup and with that I'll install a CB rig. I got a new to me Alpine tape deck to build the system around. I'll snap some photo's as that's coming together.
