Yeah I do. The stock Giant wheelset can be used tubeless, so I will just stick with that. At this point I make payments on my bike and try not to break stuff. Once I get in a shop full time I will be trading in my anthem for an Anthem X 29, hopefully a level 1 or 0. (unless I get a race only hardtail 29)

That Anthems a nice ride. I like riding the full suspensions and the Intense but there's just something about bombing a trail on a hardtail that I can't explain.

I was looking to replace the Hopper a couple years ago but pickins were slim on hardtails other than moving to a 29er so I decided to rebuild. I'm glad I did and it allowed me to keep it somewhat retro but drop in some new technology.

Is there an alternative?

Going to be traveling to more this year. Lorton, Shafer farm, patapsco etc. Should be a good year. Dust her off and lube her up.

I may have to join you one of those times. Anything good up in my neck of the woods?

I have a 2006 Giant Yukon hardtail right now. It get's the job done.

(not my photo but that's what it looks like)

I used to have a StumpJumper...man i miss that bike. Sold it before college since there was no way in hell i was gonna let anything happen to it riding to class.

That fork is sweet. But when was the last time you saw a sweet spot suspension?

Pedal bob? ? ? ? It doesn't exist on this or my anthem. I have good tastes in suspension designs. the whole drivetrain is on the linkage, so it is almost a hardtail of you stand up and crank. It is really cool and has an awesome ride. For 20 buck and 29lbs I got a pretty good deal

I ride with a kid who rode a proflex for a while. He had zipties and tape around the elastomers

Lol yeah that stuff degraded pretty quickly. Noleen is still around I had them rebuild my coil shock while I overhauled the rest of the fork. rides like it did brand new.

Send some elastomers up for my quadra 21r! Mine are pretty hard if it is cold at all.

In total I have about 100 into it. Plus a brand new chain, cranks, and cassette off a bike I had to retire right after I bought the parts.

I'm with you on the hardtails. That feeling of bombing trails on one (especially fully rigid) is what it's about for me. Gave the fully sprung caddy in the woods a shot and just couldn't get with it. They're fun, but hardtails are more fun, at least for me. That said, I'm a fat slob now that I stare at my bike more than I ride it.
