Oh man that's a lot of metal work. Invest in a quart of por 15 and start trying to save what u can. At least you might prolong the madness. I wish you were closer, I repaired a ton of rust on my 97 with some sheet metal and seam sealer. It can be done it's just a bit of work.

Amazon has por15, great stuff. Requires some prep but it might help slow the decay. In other not so compromised spots it will be a great protectant against further rust.
If previous owner was driving through saltwater, there is likely corrosion underneath and on fasteners. Also frame-rails should be checked, they rust from the inside out. On bottom of rails there are various holes, shine a good light in hole and peek around the insides. Also open the doors and look at bottom of door edge and its seam.
I notice you are missing bumpstops for rear axle. Not just the bumper pad but its mounting plate also. Did it fall off or was it removed?

Ill be sure to check around there once the ground isnt all wet. Yeah the bump stops wete gone when I got her...before I knew anything about jeeps. They look torn off to be honest. Not sure what the story is there. If anything after/when I lift her im tearing that stupid carpet out. Its soaked...everywhere underneath. By doing that i should stop future problems.
Think I should cut the carpet out now or will a few weeks be alright?

As for the carpet, I use a shop vac to suck water out of carpet and padding, padding holds the most moisture.

Just went out and grabbed a pic. I looked inside the frame through thise holes, she looks pretty clean *whew* i know its not a frame but...yeah. the carpet feels dry on top though....will the shop vac suck that hard? Lol. Yeeeeah negative arch springs. The reason i wont go offroad right now.
Its not unfortunately. I just got home from work and i gotta be up at 1745 for work again. This coming week i will try to secure some tools for the rear cut and fold and some por15 for the other spots, epoxy or whatevwr to fix those issue son the rear hatch corners. Other than that its been seek and find missions onto the inside of me jeep. No garage and apartment complex parking makes auto repair difficult.
Changed my rear diff fluid. I have now learned it is far easier when you use jack stands. Cuz it was dam hard to turn those gears when those wheels were on the ground lol. So now I need jack stands.
Got a die grinder too for all of my rust fighting adventures. Trying to track down por15 that isnt $100.
Man waiting for the lift to come in is hell. Installed a shelf-it shelf. Got it for free from a jeep buddy. Wouldnt work for tall folks since it brings the visors down some. Total sun shade lol. I had to drill a hole in the center of the mounts for the mirror light wires to fit through.
Grabbed a front driveshaft off an unknown year 80's xj automatic. That thing had a dana 44 in the rear too....should i go grabbit just for the heck of it? I wasnt planning on ever needing a d44..i have the c8.25 but i just saw that folks can put the d44 in the front...not to mention i hadnt budgeted for buying an entire axle
